DESCRIPTION

Automatic Control and Robotics have great applications in Industry, notably in assembly lines and the automation of industrial processes, as well as in medicine and in assisted living. In particular, companion robots are very timely and get a lot of attention in the mass media.

This CVML Web Module focuses on Automatic Control and Robotics and their applications. First, an Introduction to the Robotic Operating System (ROS) is overviewed, as it is the primary platform for developing Robotic Systems. Then, Robot Kinematic and Dynamic Modeling is detailed, as it forms the basis of Robotic Control. The PID Controllers are overviewed as well, as they are important building blocks in many control systems.

Companion robot for assisting the elderly.

Articulated robot.
