Abstract

This lecture overviews 3D Image and Video Quality  that has many applications in stereoscopic imaging, 3D TV and 3D cinema. It covers the following topics in detail: Visual discomfort and Visual discomfort assessment methods.  Physical immersion effects are detailed, e.g., in head-mounted displays, projection displays & reality theaters. Virtual reality induced symptoms and effects are detailed.

Stereoscopic window effects and bent window effect are analyzed. Depth perception effects: UFO, Depth Jump Cuts, Cardboarding Effect, Gigantism and dwarfism are detailed, as well as well to fix them. Subjective and objective 3D Video Quality assessment is also overviewd.
